COLLEGE SPONSORED BASIC TERM LIFE AND ACCIDENTAL DEATH AND DISMEMBERMENT
The College of Central Florida enrolls each full-time employee in a $20,000 Term Life Insurance Plan through The Standard Life Insurance for which the college pays 100%. Employees are automatically enrolled at the time of hire and must provide at least one beneficiary.
SUPPLEMENTAL TERM LIFE INSURANCE AND ACCIDENTAL DEATH AND DISMEMBERMENT
- Employee Only Supplemental Life: The College of Central Florida offers employee-only supplemental term life insurance through The Standard at an additional cost to the employee. This may be purchased in increments of 1, 2, or 3 times your annual salary rounded to the next $1,000.
- Dependent Supplemental Life for Spouse and Children – NEW Benefit effective January 1, 2022
Choice 1: $20,000 Spouse/$10,000 Child(ren). $3.16 per member / per month.
- Choice 2: $10,000 Spouse/$5,000 Child(ren). $1.58 per member / per month.
- Choice 3: $5,000 Spouse/$2,500 Child(ren). $.79 per member / per month.
With this plan, the employee can choose one of three coverage levels at the cost indicated above. This cost covers the spouse and all dependent children of dependent age. If employee does not have children at present it would just cover the spouse until a child is born if applicable. If the employee does not have a spouse, it would just cover the children.
ENROLLMENT DETAILS FOR SUPPLEMENTAL LIFE INSURANCE
Newly hired employees may enroll during the first 30 days of employment and qualify for this coverage as a guaranteed issue up to $200,000 of coverage (medical underwriting required for amounts above 200K). Existing employees may enroll at any time, however, an Evidence of Insurability form will be required and coverage is not guaranteed. Eligibility will be determined by the insurance company.

It offers aid before and during your trip, including: passport, visa, weather, currency exchange, emergency ticket, credit card and passport replacement, missing baggage, medical prescription replacement, emergency evacuation to nearest medical facility, connection to medical providers/interpreters/local attorneys, return travel companion, and logistical arrangements for ground transportation, housing or evacuation.
LIFE SERVICES TOOLKIT
Online tools and services can help you create a will, make advance funeral plans and put your finances in order. After a loss, your beneficiary can consult experts by phone or in person, and obtain other helpful information online. The Life Services Toolkit is automatically available to those insured under a group Life insurance policy from The Standard.
Services to help you now include: estate planning services, financial planning, health and wellness, identify theft protection, and funeral arrangements. Service for your beneficiary include: grief support, legal services, financial assistance, support services, and online resources.
Universal Life Insurance Offerings
Policies under these plans provide cash and loan value and some may be purchased for the employee's spouse and dependent children. The following are authorized vendors that offer various insurance programs to employees. These plans may be used to supplement other insurance policies. The employee pays the full premium cost for these programs, which varies with the amount of coverage, and/or the age of the insured.
