College of Central Florida
Flexible Spending Account
College of Central Florida's Flexible Benefits Plan includes a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) available through Eagle Benefits. Employees pay for unreimbursed medical expenses and/or dependent care on a pre-tax basis. This benefit can lower your pre-tax income. There is a $2,850 maximum established for the Flexible Spending Account. There is a $5,000 maximum established for the Dependent Care Reimbursement Account. Unspent funds are forfeited at the end of the calendar year, so it is important to estimate your expenses conservatively. Newly hired employees may enroll during the first 30 days of employment. Existing employees, not currently enrolled, may only enroll during the annual open enrollment period or a special enrollment period (if a qualifying event occurs). The plan year runs from January 1 – December 31 each year.
The benefit currently offered through Eagles Benefits will end on 12/31/2024. The voluntary option for a Flexible Spending Account as of 1/1/2025 will transition to the State Group Insurance Plan. You will be able to select this voluntary benefit option during open enrollment from 10/14/2024-11/1/2024 ends at 6 pm, which will go into effect 1/1/2025.
